The best multi purpose quick detailer you never knew you needed.
Every so often in the endless cycle of buying new products, trying them out and moving on, inevitably you will come across a product you simply can’t do without – Auto Finesse Finale.
For those of you not familiar with it, Finale is a quick detailer / spray wax product that has multiple uses and can even be diluted, even if it doesn’t say so on the bottle. It will leave behind a glossy finish and a layer of protection that can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks depending on which season we are in and how the weather is. It is quick and simple to use and honestly is just a joy to use.
It doesn’t say so on the bottle, but you can even dilute Finale – just don’t expect the protection to last as long!
The Multi Purpose Detailer – Quick Detailer
Of course the primary use is as quick detailer, giving panels a wipe down after a wax or polish to ensure that there are no ‘wax holograms’ after you are finished. This ensures your previous product is fully removed as well as boosting the protection and gloss it gives.
I’m not ashamed to say there are times where you miss a spot during the wash stage and this is another area Finale shines in. Providing lubrication to the surface to ensure you minimise any chance of inducing swirls you can simply spray finale on a dirty or dusty part of the vehicle and wipe away with a plush micro fibre.
Rinse Aid & Spray Wax
This is the primary use I have for Finale and is unmatched by any other products of the same kind I have came across. My routine for the tail end of a maintenance or mini valet is as follows. Once the car has been washed simply mist 1 or 2 sprays of Finale on a panel and rinse the car off, this not only allows the water to run off the vehicle easier speeding up the rinsing stage but will still bond to the paint giving a small period of protection. Almost like a spray on, rinse off product with an albeit much shorter duration of protection. Once the car is rinsed off, I use finale again, 1 spray on the drying towel, 1 spray on the panel and work my way round the car till the entire vehicle is dry. This furthers the protection on the vehicle and boosts that glossy finish even on the most trashed vehicles. I also use this same method on alloys and while it will not offer the same kind of protection a dedicated wheel coating or wax offers, it is better than nothing and won’t exactly break the bank.
Cleaning & Protecting Door Jams
There are times where the door shuts just don’t require you to break out a detailing brush and go to town with an All Purpose Cleaner, they simply need a wipe down and a quick layer of protection, in this case I reach for finale every time. Simply spray the door shut with Finale and wipe the dirt away with a micro fibre towel, switch to a dry towel and buff away the excess which now leaves you or the customer with a clean door jam that now has a layer of protection, making it easier to clean the next time round.
Protecting Glass & Hard To Reach Areas
I use Finale on my mini valets to give customers a short term rain repellent and helps to make my mini valet stand out from competitors by providing more value than every other mini valet out there. Simply spray Finale on and wipe off on dry windows and it works quite well – obviously, a dedicated glass coating will perform better but look at the price difference and the flexibility between these two products. Finale genuinely performs better than I first expected on the windscreen and will repel rain from a relatively low speed. I would typically expect it to last 2-4 weeks on a windscreen and 4+ weeks on side windows.
Those intricate areas on cars such as grills, window rubbers, splitters and bumpers are rarely fully protected because either you cant use wax on those materials or because they are simply too difficult to reach – think honeycomb grills… You can use my spray on rinse off method here or if you prefer, simply spray on the areas required and dry it off with a plush micro fibre.
Don’t have a dedicated clay lube? Well with Finale you don’t need one. I have genuinely needed to use a dedicated clay lubricant after using Finale. I have tried and tested the lubrication against Auto Finesse Glide, and while glide does feel a bit slipper I still don’t feel the need to buy it if I can slim down the amount of products I need to get the job done.
There we have it, hopefully I have given you a couple of extra uses if you are a regular user of the product and if not ill provide a link at the bottom of the page. For more of the detailing related blogs I have plenty to read on www.simplydetailing.co.uk/blog and more to come in the future!
